Abstract

This article is devoted to the modern media trend - data journalism in Kazakhstan. The authors considered various definitions of data journalism, which is becoming a new form of modern journalism, which has incorporated statistics, computer science, visual communication, infographics, etc. Data jour- nalism solves an important problem: it revives data, numbers, turning them into a history of data, reveals important problems of our time.

The purpose of the study is to study the segment of mass media in Kazakhstan that work on the principles of data journalism, and to identify trends in their development. The scientific significance of  the study is that the article analyzes the state and features of development of data journalism in modern Kazakhstan media. The practical significance of the study is that the author analyzes the application of the principles of data journalism by the Kazakhstan media in the context of the development of informa- tion and communication technologies. The practical significance of the results of the article is expressed by the fact that this work is one of the few studies in Russian language that defines the main concepts of data journalism and the use of information technologies for creating infographics. It identifies the main characteristics of the activities of Kazakhstan’s news sites and the specifics of the work of Internet publi- cations in Kazakhstan on the principles of data journalism.
