Abstract

The author presents the new concept of media transparency and openness. The new concept has appeared in the countries with high communication technologies. This concept is wider than traditional media ownership transparency, which is taboo topic in Kazakhstan. More over, this new concept implies openness and transparency of all steps of editorial and journalistic activities. Through the analysis of the Kazakhstani newspaper websites, and recently accepted Code of Ethics of a Kazakhstani Journalist the author concludes that in the frames of mass movement to digital technologies, media openness and transparency can serve as effective tools of gaining back the media trust.
