Abstract

Public service television is funded in many countries by government grants and taxes, along with donations from NGOs and individual viewers. But with the economic downturn, the U.S. government is considering eliminating its public service TV funding altogether. But public service television is not the only medium being hurt in the economic crunch, and even commercial media are starting to look at government for help. Is there a solution? This article demonstrates that there is.
