Thought journalism in Milan Kundera’s creativity

Abstract

Article is devoted to creativity and publicistic activity of one of the most readable writers of the present
– Milan Kundera. Publicistic essays “The Violated Wills”, “Curtain”, novels “The Unbearable Lightness
of Being”, “Waltz at Parting”, “Bessmertiye”, etc. caused a wide public response, forced to reflect over life
sacraments, and, above all, awakened a new wave of interest in the Word. Works of the writer are still perceived
ambiguously. His outlooks on life, art, literature surprise with freshness of attitude, understanding of
a contradiction as driving force of development of the nature and society. Thoughts of the philosopher, the
essayist, the publicist meet a sincere response from the modern reader. By recognition of the writer, great
humanists Francois Rabelais and Denis Diderot became his teachers. In works of these authors Kundera is
attracted by a game, irony, “freedom turned into the novel”. Authors of article investigate works of the writer
in the publicistic course, considering aspects of influence of literary skill on intellectual perception of works.
