Andre Maurois: journalism in a literary discourse
Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the influence of journalism on the works of the French writer, literary critic Andre Maurois. Creative heritage of the writer is the pride of world literature. Works by Andre Maurois differ in subtle psychological insights, a clear code of ethics, a humanistic orientation, a journalistic pathos. His views called «art of life», «the art of love», «and gymnastics of happiness.» According to the writer, beauty treats, soothes the restless soul, educates and develops the mind and the senses, transforms the world. The authors examine the works of the writer in the aspect of the interaction of journalism and literature. Literary discourse reveals the philosophical, aesthetic, and genre preferences of one of the brightest representatives of the French literature of the twentieth century.
