Features of environmental journalism in Kazakhstan

Abstract

There is no doubt that modern Kazakhstani journalism is developing in different directions. Journalists
have the right to express and defend their opinions in media publications. At the same time, any
author puts forward his ideas, his vision about issues related to environmental problems not only in specific
regions, but also in the republic. Prior to the country’s independence, the solution of environmental
issues posed by Kazakhstan’s journalism was pushed to the background; because the priorities were
economic, political and other spheres.
Nowadays, environmental problems are solved at the governmental level. Journalists constantly
cover environmental subjects in the media.
