Abstract

This article examines media representations of historical figures created using artificial intelligence on social media. The study aims to analyze the historical accuracy, visual coherence, audio presentation, and media structure of AI-generated videos about Alash movement figures published on TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.

Hypothesis: AI-powered synthetic media can effectively popularize historical knowledge, but carry the risk of distorting facts and oversimplifying historical context.

Methodology: The analysis included 10 videos selected from social media. The focus was not on their popularity, but on the accuracy of their representation of historical figures. The accuracy of text, visual imagery, voice characteristics, and narrative decisions were assessed using qualitative content analysis.

Novelty of the Results: Historical figures quickly reach a wide audience thanks to AI-generated content. However, such videos often lack factual accuracy and omit context. This demonstrates both the potential and limitations of synthetic media in disseminating historical knowledge.

Based on an analysis of 10 videos, the study shows that artificial intelligence in disseminating historical content, while on the one hand expanding the audience, also has implications that alter meaning: in some materials, the author and source are clearly identified, while in others, historical context is minimized or adapted to the visual presentation, resulting in unstable attribution and interpretation within a single system, and the precise boundaries of AI's application in disseminating historical knowledge remain unclear.
