Innovative approach in the formation of professionally­ based competence of future journalists

Abstract

An analysis of the available literature on the problems of competence approach in education points out that the competenceapproach, as a lead- ing approach in the training of journalists, focuses on the formation of the perceived needs of the student in the scientific understanding of the professional reality.It ensures the unity of theoretical and practical readi- ness ofa journalist to implement professionally based activities;prepares a journalist for creative problem solving and self-realization of his per- sonality. But at the same time, a major difficulty is to determine the most so-called «core competencies», which should be formed in future journal- ists. It seems possible to identify these competencies, if one considers the functions of a modern journalist in the course of his professional activities.
