The role of multimedia special projects in the modern journalistic context

The modern media space is undergoing constant evolution, annually undergoing significant changes in the ways of presenting information. Traditional text formats, which until recently were the main tool for transmitting news and knowledge, are undergoing a profound transformation under the influence of technological progress. Therefore, modern journalism is constantly experimenting, implementing optimal ways to convey information to a wide audience, while innovations are not limited only to visual effects. The purpose of the article is to review and clarify the definition of "multimedia special project", as well as the possibility of using this case as a creative method in training journalists.
The scientific significance of the article consists in an attempt to describe the concept of «multimedia special project» in terms of content, style and information value. The research methodology provides for a systematic approach, a method of comparative analysis, as well as content analysis. The result of the study is closed.
The practical significance of the article is due to the prospect of using the results in multimedia journalism classes, as well as in special courses on mass media writing. In addition, an important aspect of practical use is the introduction into the educational process of new formats for graduate works of journalism students, which include both scientific and creative intentions in the form of creating an author's multimedia special project. This opens new opportunities for a modern journalist who puts into practice professional skills related to multimedia technologies.
