Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of false information and misinformation spread in social networks. Relevance of the study: in the modern digital era, social networks have already become not only a communication tool but also a means of disseminating and receiving information. Social networks not only adapt their functions to the requirements of the time but also try to maximize the assimilation of modern trends.

The purpose of the research is to study and analyze the false information spread through WhatsApp messenger, based on the articles published on the Kazakhstani website factcheck.kz. In addition, the scientific study aims not only to analyze the spread of information but also to identify the grounds on which certain data are widely disseminated. The work is based on the works of scientists who have studied this topic.

To date, the dissemination and receipt of information has become easier and faster, which is certainly pleasing. After all, in our time there is an increasing demand for specialists who are able to effectively use modern technologies for fast and high-quality data transfer. However, it is also important to note the risks associated with the rapid dissemination of information, especially false information. This can lead to the readers' minds being misled and they start getting confused about the facts. Thus, there is a possibility that the audience will believe false propaganda or manipulation.

The scientific idea of the study is to analyze the quantity and quality of false information disseminated in messengers, considering the subject matter, as well as to identify its strengths and weaknesses. This will help to influence the development of critical thinking in readers. The study also looks at what principles guide journalists in disseminating information.

Nowadays, information sharing and communication through WhatsApp messenger is very fast. This is due to the fact that messenger maximizes the needs of society and its interests in accordance with modern requirements. We believe that messengers help users to develop their personal brand and to publish and disseminate information effectively.
