The role of the media in protecting children's rights: problems and solutions

Children are one of the most vulnerable categories of Kazakhstani society. As a recognition of the high need to overcome this vulnerability, the Constitution of Kazakhstan has introduced various provisions aimed at ensuring the well-being of the child. The purpose of the scientific article is to find out the algorithms of coverage and information support for the observance of children's rights by the domestic media. The following maxim is formulated as the basis of the scientific concept and idea: every member of society considers it obligatory to protect children and take responsibility for their health and well-being, and the differentiation of interests and the level of responsibility of domestic online media in this direction is presented.
The authors conclude that some Kazakh-language social networks, ignoring responsibility and not realizing the moral and ethical significance of these topics, are becoming more and more dangerous sources of escalation of sensational and traumatic news. In the course of the study, the authors formulated the concept of an "easy target", which describes the complex risks that children are exposed to when the media disseminate personal information, violating the "private sphere of the child", without taking into account the rights and psychological state of children, the consequences of such interference.
The article also provides practical recommendations on the correct presentation of information about children in the media, rules for dealing with traumatic facts, examples, ethical and legal restrictions.
