Letter-sourse of the History

Abstract

The article gives a comprehensive analysis of the genre of letters as a source of historical information
and facts. Along with the fact that this genre is the means of communication between people,
it still has a historical significance. The author refers to the point of view of scientists, as well as
voices and their opinions on the matter. Attention is drawn to the fact that the said genre in every
historical epoch has its own characteristics. The epistolary genre in the Kazakh language is not fully
understood. The author gives examples of the first specimens of Greek letters, lwritten in Russian
and Kazakh languages. We analyze the epistolary heritage of Alash leaders, Shokan Valikhanov, Ybray, Altynsarin Abay. The article analyzes the uniqueness of writing genre, notes that this genre
has a social, historical content and meaning.
The article gives a detailed analysis of the works of the epistolary genre and draws attention to the
fact that they are a source of historical information and reflect the era in which they were created.
