Foreign publications on the Kazakhs of the early XX century
Abstract
In the historical development of the early XX century Kazakh Soviet literature reached ideological
and artistic heights, allowing to enrich the values of the All-Union fiction. The choice
of books translated into Western and Eastern languages is not accidental. Thanks to the Russian
language, which became one of the international languages, the area of communication
with the literature of different countries expanded. In the article the authors refer to the works
of foreigners interested in Kazakh literature, traditions and culture, and talk about the great
personalities of our country. Kazakhstan is one of the first countries of the Commonwealth of
Independent States in terms of the number of works published abroad. In fact, Abai’s poems,
M.Auezov’s novels, works by Mukanov, G.Mustrepov, G.Mustafin, T. Akhtanov, A.Nurpeisov,
B.Momyshuly, A.Alimzhanov were translated and published in many foreign languages. According
to such Western and poets as Andre Style, Bergeron Region, Alfred Kurella, Herbert Kerpien,
Erher Hekelschneider, Imre Trenchen-Valdupfel, Lyudek Grzebichek, Frantisek Soupud writers,
the ideological and artistic value of Kazakh literature is clearly reflected in the works. For foreign

historians the niche of Kazakh literature was filled with its unique history, unique spiritual life
and an amazing aesthetic world.
