The article discusses the features of preparation of the literary basis of television programs, types and structure of a television sсenario, as well as the specifics of the joint work of the author and director of the single project. Particular attention is paid to the theoretical interpretation of the category «TV scenario» and the modern incarnation of the idea of the au- thors in the program on television. The authors examine Kazakh popular television programs as well as programs of Russian channels. The role and importance of preparation of qualitative literary basis of any TV program is emphasized.
