Abstract

There are two anniversary celebrations in 2022 in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) of the Russian Federation: the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Yakut Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (YASSR) as part of Soviet Russia (RSFSR) and the 125th anniversary of the birth of one of the founders of the statehood of Yakutia, the sociopolitical activist and statesman Maxim Kirovich Ammosov (1897- 1938). The sociopolitical and state activities of M.K. Ammosov are quite renowned. However, Ammo- sov’s journalistic heritage, which influenced the social and political life of Yakutia in the 1920s, is still a subject of interest.

This article analyzes his works on Soviet cultural construction and examines his views on the Soviet government’s policy in Yakutia. The study relies primarily on the principles of historicism and objectivity. Historical-comparative and biographical methods allow us to trace the dialogical connection between

M.K. Ammosov’s state activities and his journalistic heritage. The author concludes that the goals and objectives of cultural construction, described in the articles by M.K. Ammosov, influenced the results of cultural construction and the political atmosphere in Yakutia in the 1920s. The significance of this research lies in discovering and commenting on journalistic techniques used by Ammosov. The results of this work can be applied in the further study of journalistic works of M.K. Ammosov and his associates, as well as be included in the history of Yakutia course at the university.

Key words: M.K. Ammosov, Yakut ASSR, journalism, cultural construction.
